Deepta is a design researcher, educator, architect and planner, working in sensitive contentious landscapes. Her practice is focused on creating new pathways in design, education and policy towards resilient nature-culture relations. She is Head of the Research Centre DWEEPA .

Vigna Priya Adhanki
VIgna is a postgraduate researcher and planner. Her work is oriented to asking questions about water, in particular around the concerns of map-making that generally divides water from land. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Planning program at Srishti Manipal Institute, MAHE-B'lru.

Snigdha Rana
Snigdha is an artist whose creative and research practice is in illustration and image-making through camera. She brings to the team a nuanced ability to capture details and of place and materials, exploring visual media in novel ways that record and respond to wetnesses in the landscape.
Relations
We have been working with communities in the Panchagangavali region, particularly Mr. Rakesh Soans, Founder of FSL-India. Our research has led us to connect with the Beary fisherfolk along the sand dunes, and the Kharvi peoples in the brackish ecotones. Oral histories have been recorded with academics, artists, and community groups, including the Mahila Samaj, Mrs. Rekha Bannady, Yakshagana puppeteer Mr. Bhaskar Kogga Kamath, Babu Mogaveera, and Jaya and his doni, with whom I move through the littoral waterscapes of the estuary.
